Hi 👋 I’m Elena. Named after my Italian & Croatian grandmothers (coincidentally), Nonna Elena & Baba Jelena, a big part of my heritage.
If you couldn't already tell, I love pasta, especially fresh pasta and for as long as I can remember, I have been surrounded by fresh pasta and pasta machinery...
As a baby, I would crawl around the offices of Arcobaleno Pasta Machines, my parents’ pasta machine manufacturing business they started back in 1995 in Vancouver, BC , which is now located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Growing up, my brothers and I learned how to make fresh pasta on their pasta machines & let’s just say fresh pasta was never lacking in our diets. To this day, fresh pasta will always be one of my favourite foods. As I got older, I found that making pasta became a hobby of mine. I enjoyed making it for relatives and friends. I would even host my very own pasta parties for family and friends. It was such a fun way to bring the people I loved together and share my love for pasta and cooking with them.
In 2015, I decided to go back to my roots in Vancouver and thus, began my university undergrad at UBC, graduating with a B.Sc in Food Science. I always knew I wanted to take my passion for food and science and explore things deeper...
The journey continued and sure enough, Elena’s Pasta was born in October 2020.
Pasta is so simple when you break down the core ingredients: semolina flour and water. Yet, pasta is such a versatile food; with the vast amounts of different shapes and recipes you can make, there are endless pairing pastabilities 😉. That’s one of the many reasons I love pasta so much. Every time you eat it, it can be a new and different experience.
I hope to share my joy of pasta making with you and give you a taste of my very own fresh pasta because pasta is always for sharing and I’m so excited to share it with you. 💛
